January 16 – Three Chords and the Truth is an inside joke in Country Music Capital Nashville, Tennessee.
Today we took our time getting up and around, then our friends mentioned the little town of Leiper’s Fork and we are game for all new experiences, so we bundled up and took off.
I drove and, fair warning, the roads on the way are winding, tight with lots of corners, yet very beautiful with gorgeous homes, fields and forest areas.
Leiper’s Fork is situated just south of the Nashville suburbs and is beyond charming and unique. I loved how in front of each store there are fire pits for warming up and large jars of marshmallows for roasting.
Our first stop was Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant, with live “home down pickin” music on Saturday afternoons and a fantastic array of homemade food for lunch. I had the vegetable plate with fried okra, baked beans, mashed potatoes, corn cake and the best blackberry cobbler known to man. (or woman) Needless to say, there was nothing left.
