April 9 – Things To See and Do in Seattle WA

Space Needle SeattleDecide how much you want to do in Seattle and check out the City PASS as it is well worth the money if staying a few days to visit. It’s valued for nine days from purchase and includes 5 out of 7 of the city’s promoted attractions.
Today began the first day of our exploration of Seattle WA. The drive from Kent WA took quite some time as traffic is quite literally nightmarish; the roads are not maintained, flow of traffic is practically non-existent and whoever laid out the traffic infrastructure was possibly stoned out of their minds long before it became legal. Also prepare yourself for mostly rude and overly aggressive drivers. Be on your toes!
Parking is plentiful, readily available but quite expensive with New York prices.
We first went to the EMP Museum. It was interesting enough but not quite sure of the particular intent of this museum?

It is an array of different collections from Hello Kitty to Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain, that change periodically. I have heard people rave about it and I enjoyed it but would most likely not visit it again. http://www.empmuseum.org
We really enjoyed our lunch at the POP Kitchen and Bar inside the museum, and was pleasantly surprised by the staff and food. http://www.empmuseum.org/visit/pop-kitchen-plus-bar.aspx
Our next stop was going to be the Space Needle but using the City Pass coupon was quite confusing and the staff not very helpful, and after several times being sent back and forth between long lines of people waiting, we bypassed the experience and went on to the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit.
I loved, loved, loved this. Photos are not able to do it justice. You cannot help but to stand and look in awe at every amazing, beautiful piece of glass. I would highly suggest this to everyone when visiting Seattle. My favorites were the Sea Life Rooms and garden areas.
After that we walked around a bit to get a feel of the area then headed back to grab some dinner and get some rest for our big day tomorrow.
