Back on Amelia Island

Late Bloomer wine

To Your Health Brian Clement

Monday 02/22/16

We will be back in Fernandina tomorrow. The thought after these almost 6 weeks of travel made me lay awake for a long time last night. Besides my wonderful friends and family, who I love dearly, there is nothing else pulling me back and nothing that I miss.

Is that weird?

I just feel one with the world now, one with nature and home is truly where the deep recesses of my heart lie and that includes the cities where my children live, even if I have never been there before because part of my heart is with them.

We decided last minute to spend the night in Kingsland GA, so we can have dinner with Drew (my 4th child) and pick up our mail from him. Most important was the last piece of the puzzle towards Han finally getting his license back as well as his SSN card. We had to send off for a hard copy of it. Next we have to go to various banks to take care of stuff, especially because we had to get a new card for Han, which he had lost when he lost his wallet in Michigan.

Furthermore there are arrangements to be made for a car service after a 4,500 miles trip.

So tomorrow is a big day of errands for us.

Tuesday 02/23/16

We relaxed over breakfast because we knew what was ahead of us. We arrived in Fernandina Beach and hit the ground racing to and fro, as our day consisted of finally obtaining Han’s drivers license, we also included getting a new pair of eyeglasses for him, setting an appointment to drop the car of to have some minor things repaired and serviced, went through our storage unit in search of summer clothes, checked out the improvements on the house we used to live in, bank, post office and more. We still have much to do.

While having lunch at the Loop we heard from several acquaintances that our friend Lawrence had been in the ICU for several days already, so lunch was a frantic search to get more info.

Late afternoon we arrived at Jack and Sharon’s, we were happy because it was great to see smiling faces and share some stories. A very special bottle of wine, given to us by our dear friends Brian and Nancie from New Orleans, was opened and consumed with good friends

The rest of the week until Friday will most def be spent catching up, running more errands, getting an appointment for my chipped tooth (things like that happen while one is gone) and more joy, joy… of unpacking and repacking, since we will be making a weekend trip down to the Tampa area on Friday.
