Leaving Louisiana in the Rearview Mirror

Sunset in DestinTHURSDAY 02/18/16
Woke up this morning and once again began the chore of packing the car for another destination. Hugged the grand kids bye, gave the doggies some pats on the head then headed out for Destin FL.

Our lunch stop was at Piccadilly’s. Besides the fact that some of my foodie friends had been suggesting it to me, I remember dining at a Piccadilly in Gainesville with good memories. Both memories and friends were absolutely correct. I was quite surprised by the quality and taste of a cafeteria style restaurant. Han raved about the fish.

It was actually a little longer drive than expected with cities as Biloxi and Pensacola to pass through, but once we arrived at our destination and saw the outstanding condo that Donna had set us up in, we were thrilled and excited. One of her job perks; It was a very large condo with three bedrooms, three baths, gourmet kitchen, two living rooms, two huge balconies and was located on the top (6th) floor overlooking the water and beach areas. We faced the intercoastal waterway and the sunsets were breathtaking.

After unpacking we did some grocery shopping and headed back to the condo, chatted a bit then called it an early evening because Donna had to work the next day. She’d be coming back tomorrow with her cute little dog “Lilly”, she said, while also letting us know she had invited a high school friend from Georgia to visit too.

We had a fun night with just the two of us.
