August 17 – Reader Be Aware, Curse Words Enclosed

Flixbus miseryI thought our next stop was to be Zurich and high tail it out of Italy forever but I thought wrong.

Enjoyed a good breakfast, grabbed a taxi to the bus station and then the following scenario began which I posted publicly on Facebook because people need to be made aware of this type of crap before booking.
“Last freaking straw… FLIXBUS SUCKS!!!
We get to the bus station at 11:45am, bus due to leave at 12:15pm, we wait until 2:15pm then find out the bus left at 12:10pm without “at least” seven people, maybe more.
I call bullshit because first they left earlier than scheduled (that is if they were ever there in the first place) and some of the folks waiting had arrived even earlier than we did and were much younger than us. There is NO WAY that at least seven people missed seeing the fucking bus where there is only ONE way for the buses to pull into the station.
I bet anything they were already running late and thought that we are just a few people so screw it, they will just bypass us and keep going.
We have already witnessed this kind of screwy shit, so pissed but not surprised.
The other bus drivers offer ZERO help. Literally wave you away like you are a mosquito.
So now we are back at the hotel, having to spend more money for another night and extra money on bus tickets, and try to figure how to get OUT of Italy.
No trains, no planes, no buses until tomorrow. Wasting money on a booked hotel room in Zurich that is too late to cancel, another last minute hotel room night in Milan, money gone on todays bus tickets AND even more money for tomorrows tickets since they are last minute. We also have to ride the bus for an extended amount of time of 10 hours tomorrow, since we have to get to Heidelberg where we have reservations for two nights. Nope, will not be visiting Italy again.”
Renting a car one way from Italy to Holland is a fortune. A bloody fortune, as is also last minute train or plane tickets, if you can find them.
The only positive note is the hotel had rooms available and the restaurant food is good, but FLIXBUS can go to hell.
I am so overly pissed that we still have to depend upon their crappy transportation to get back to Holland.
Han emailed them with no response and I sent a message via Facebook which they did reply. The only thing they did was cancel and refund us 28.00 for the tickets we could not use from Zurich to Heidelberg. Not even the entire price of the tickets. Oh and they sorry but…I have the whole conversation on Facebook message. If you want to see it, please let me know. Will be happy to spread the insanity of what they call “Flixbus”.
